Cause and Effect

School shootings are a direct result of cause and effect. The cause is usually bullying, teasing, or hazing. This causes the person that they are abusing to just snap. They just cant take it anymore and they do whatever they think would fix the problem. The effect is the killing of innocent students. If you could eliminate the cause then there would be less or even no school shootings. In order to get rid of the cause a person would have to get rid of everything that causes kids to treat others unfairly. So the direct cause might not be because of the bullying but it could be a result of the enviornment they grew up in. The direct cause might be parents or friends that have a bad influence on them like making them violent or getting them on drugs. No matter what the actual cause is the only way to get rid of school shootings is to rid the world of the things or people that cause them.

Critical Thinking

Thinking critically means to go outside of the box. It means to really focus on something. Thinking critically allows people to solve problems that they face in everyday life. Without critical thinking we would not have a lot of the technology we have today. This computer that i am typing on would not exist. If we didn't think things through then there would be more disasters and huge mistakes in our world.

Thinking

Talking with oneself... hence also inwardly listening.
I agree with this quote because thinking involves talking and listening to yourself. You need to talk to yourself otherwise you wont know what you are thinking and you need to listen to absorb the information. I also disagree because if you are sitting there talking to yourself you probably would feel a little stupid. I think that when they say talking they actually mean considering the information that you are taking in. After you decide if the information is worth taking in then you listen to it in your head so you can remember it and understand what it actually means. You then take that knowledge that you have gained and apply it to everyday life. If you dont repeat the information to yourself you probably wont remember it so it would be useless. Then after you repeat it to yourself you should hear it in your head and record it to your memory and understand its true meaning.

Personal Statement

I am looking for a job in the electrician field. I enjoy wiring and taking things apart and puttingthem back together. I have improved my skills in this field by taking classes that make me better at social skills and I have learned house maintenance. Ive had many jobs including Arctic Glacier stacking and loading, Runnings setting up the new store and tearing down the old one, Tholens, and the Ice Arena where I developed social skills and how to handle certain situations.

My goals are to work as an apprentice, eventually upgrade to journeyman, and finally to become a master electrician. After I become a master electrician I plan to open my own business.

I feel I deserve this job because i am hard working and once I set my mind to something I don't quit till the job is done.

excellence

What is excellence? To many people excellence is trying something and succeeding at it. To others excellence can mean to feel good about how a person is doing. There are many different ways that people can define excellence but to me excellence means trying my hardest and never giving it up. Although it is easy to say that a person is a good example of excellence it is a lot harder to actually be excellent. Everyone has had the urge to give up on something because something is to hard or they just dont like to do it. Being excellent takes a lot of work. it means going the extra mile and giving it your all.

Although a person may try to go the extra mile that doesnt mean that they are necessarily excellent. Many people try to cheat their way in by cheating or stealing. In my opinion cheating is the exact opposite of excellence. Cheating is an easy way for a person to consider themselves as excellent, but it really means that that person is just to lazy to do the extra work it would take. Cheating can be easily achieved by copying answers, looking at another persons paper, or even through plagerism. Where would all of that get a person? By copying answers they arent learning anything because they are just writing about what another person has learned. Plagerism is for people who are to lazy to do their own work because they dont want to or dont have enough time. There is no excuse for either because it is not their own work. It is stealing someone elses knowledge to make it look like a person knows what they are talking about.

Excellence is striving to be the best you can be. There are many different ways of achieving it, many which are good ways at learning lifes lessons, but there are ways that people try to convince themselves that they are excellent. But we all know that it can only be achieved through hard work and trying your hardest.

Education

Have you ever thought about how your parents got their jobs? Have you ever thought of the training they had to go through to get those jobs? If it wouldn't be for education your parents probably would not be where they were today. Education is a very important thing in peoples lives. It allows people to understand the world and its inhabitants. Adults need it for jobs so they can earn money for to support their families. They also need to teach their children about the essentials of life. They make their kids go to school because they know how important it is. Parents also influence their children to do and learn new things like learning how to interact with others, work as a team, and to work on their own.

Education for children is even more important because in the early stages of life because they learn how to do things on their own. They learn certain things like problem solving which is an important thing to know in their lives. Education allows children to grow up and live successful lives. Teachers play a big role in educating children. Teachers teach children things they will use for the rest of their lives.
